DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER (DPF) AND CATALYST CLEANING
It is recommended to CLEAN the DPF, INSTEAD OF REMOVING IT OR BUYING NEW!!!
FAST
Cleaning a DPF for passenger car takes only 1 h. Cleaning a DPF for truck, bus or tractor takes 2-3 h.
GENTLE
The DPF is cleaned without interfering with the filter design. Remove the filter, bring it to our service centre and we will clean it without dismantling.
PROFESSIONALLY
Cleaning is carried out using the most modern machine currently available in the world. The machine performs diagnostics and provides the most efficient cleaning possible.
After the wash cycle and re-diagnostics, the cleaning machine will issue a printout that the filter is completely clean. We give a 1 year guarantee.
Fill in the form. In the message field, write your question in free form, indicate the type of your vehicle. We will call you and provide detailed consultation on everything related to cleaning a particulate filter (DPF) of your vehicle.
1. What is a DPF or a particulate filter?
A DPF (diesel particular filter) or a particulate filter is integrated in the exhaust system of a diesel vehicle. The main function of a DPF is to reduce the release of soot particles into the atmosphere. Read more...
2. Do all diesel vehicles have a DPF filter?
DPF or particulate filters began to be built in passenger and commercial vehicles manufactured since 2006. Vehicles that comply with the Euro 5 ecological standard, which have been produced since 2010, practically all have a DPF filter.
3. What is the function of a particulate filter or DPF?
The DPF accumulates polluting chemicals from the fuel combustion process before these particles reach the muffler and enter the atmosphere, which means that it protects our health, nature and the environment.
4. Why the particulate filter – DPF – must be cleaned?
The DPF filter collects the particles and tries to burn them repeatedly. However, all DPF filters become clogged at one point and the engine management system (EMS) illuminates the service indicator, or check engine, indicating the clogged filter.
5. How do I know that a particulate filter is clogged and needs to be cleaned?
You will see a light on the panel and you will definitely feel one of these changes – you will feel that the power of the vehicle has decreased, more fuel is used, the vehicle is no longer so easy to start, there may be problems with the turbocharger and an unusual odour may appear. Read more...
6. How often should the DPF or particulate filter be cleaned?
It depends on the vehicle manufacturer and the frequency of use. It is recommended to clean the DPF every 250-300 thousand km of mileage. But this interval can be smaller.
7. But if the vehicle has its own regeneration (cleaning) process, isn’t that enough?
The DPF has a limited ability to withhold solid soot particles. When a certain level of soot is reached, a regeneration process is initiated, during which the particles are usually burned, converting them into carbon dioxide and ash. For various reasons, the regeneration process may not commence and this will eventually result in clogging of the filter. In addition, non-combustible particles may accumulate on the filter, causing the filter to be clogged. If a DPF of your vehicle has never been cleaned, the vehicle may stop at some point and may not start again.
8. What contributes to clogging of a DPF or a particulate filter?
Clogging of the DPF is caused by urban conditions, poor quality fuel and damaged technical elements. Read more...
9. Isn’t it better to replace the particulate filter and install a new one?
Basically, there is no need to change the particulate filter and put a new one. The original new filters are quite expensive. The second option is to replace the original with an analogue filter – not purchased from a dealer. Analogue filters are 5 times cheaper than the original ones. However, we do not recommend the use of an analogue filter, because from the experience of our clients, such filters can clog up after a few thousand km of mileage. The most advantageous is to clean the filter and it will be as good as new. Also, in terms of price, it will be significantly cheaper than buying a new original filter.
10. May the particulate filter be removed, so that it no longer needs to be cleaned?
We strongly do not recommend removing the particulate filter. Because, first of all, it is forbidden by the law and it may result in a fine. Secondly, the vehicle structure and electronics will be damaged, so it will no longer be possible to carry out maintenance at the dealer, as there would be an interference with the control unit. And thirdly, cars with the particulate filter (DPF) removed have increased emissions and, emissions are known to be harmful to human health, nature and the environment. Read more...
SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM
WHAT TO DO, IF IT IS DETECTED THAT THE PARTICULATE FILTER (DPF) IS CLOGGED?
1. Determine the reason, why the particulate filter is clogged, performing diagnostics of the vehicle.
2. Prevent the cause (the technical components of the vehicle may be damaged).
3. Clean the particulate filter (DPF).
4. The car must continue to be used in the recommended mode of use.
Choose a reliable car service centre, perform diagnostics, dismount the particulate filter and bring it to us – we will take care of your filter cleaning! If the car is equipped with a catalytic converter and a particulate filter, the effective result can only be achieved, if both parts are cleaned. If you are not comfortable bringing the filter to us yourself, feel free to call or write to our phone or WhatsApp number 26372715, and we will agree on the delivery of the filter by courier service.
